  We had an amazing outdoor experience when we came on a family trip to one of the cabins. They were well equipped in the cabin. It had a fireplace and they provided the wood for the cabins and a full kitchen. The cabin was beautiful and had amazing views of the hills. There were many hiking trails to choose from, including family friendly trails.

  I had 75 minutes to kill while in the area so I decided to have lunch in the restaurant. I was seated promptly but waited a full 11 minutes before I was even offered a drink. It was not busy, as there were only 2 other tables with customers in the entire room. This would have been acceptable, had there been more people to serve. I did also visit the gift shop where I had a very enjoyable conversation with the woman working and bought a great new book.

  This is such an amazing park. Last time I was there I hiked the three bridges trail. 3.5 miles and 3 awesome natural bridges. Love this place so much that I proposed to my fiance at the end of a cave tour. It was beautiful.

  When people think of caves, they always think of Mammoth Cave, but there are tons of great caves in Kentucky. Carter caves park has several of these caves and also has plenty of great hiking trails and rock formations. Its lack of fame compared to Mammoth Cave also means that it is not nearly as crowded which is great. If you go in the off-season you can also get really cheap lodging. The cabins are great for a family and are pet friendly too. There's also golf, rapelling, horses, and lots of nice little picnic spots along the creek at the park entrance. Overall, its a great park with plenty to offer.
